The results of a poll called “The Socio-Political Barometer”, carried out by IMAS-INC, shows the same two parties having chances to enter the new Parliament: if elections were called next Sunday, 28.7% would vote for the Communists, as 6.6% for the Liberal Party. The ratio of the undecided is 45%. A poll called “Social Monitor – 2008”, carried out by CBS-AXA and commissioned by IDIS Viitorul, launched a day before, shows 30.6% would vote for the Communists and 5.6% for the Liberals. The electoral threshold is 6%. The PL's chances to enter the Parliament were assessed taking into account the error margin and the amount of the undecided. According to the Socio-Political Barometer, if elections were held next Sunday, AMN would get 4.4% of ballots, PLDM – 4.2%, PPCD – 3.8%, PDM – 2.8%, PSD – 2%. 56% say they will go to vote, as a quarter of the population are undecided. One in two trusts Voronin, 40% trust, partially or totally, premier Zinaida Greceanai and Marian Lupu, one third trust Vasile Tarlev, followed by Dorin Chirtoaca with a trust quota of 28%, Serafim Urecheanu — 21%. The other political leaders have a trust quota of under 15%. Most respondents (41%) do not know what the best alliance would be to rule Moldova after the 2009 elections. 24% say an adequate alliance would be the one of the PCRM with other parties, 16% – an alliance of free Liberal parties, ousting the PCRM. 45% of the interviewed think the coming elections will be free and fair. One in three thinks the elections will be rigged, and one in four does not know how the things will develop in this respect. The poll has been carried out from November 27 to December 7, in 71 localities on 1,123 interviewed. The error margin is 3%.
