A new outbreak of COVID-19 was recorded at a placement center for persons with mental disabilities situated in Bădiceni village of Soroca district, IPN reports.
According to Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection Viorica Dumbrăveanu, 13 beneficiates of the center are under medical supervision. A number of 100 samples were taken today from 96 beneficiaries and four employees of the institution. The center has 382 beneficiaries and 214 employees in total.
Viorica Dumbrăveanu also said that four medical employees of the Oncology Institute in May contracted the novel coronavirus.
As many as 68 new infections with COVID-19 were confirmed on May 11. Nine of those infected are healthcare workers. Seven infected persons succumbed to the disease, taking the death toll to 176.
A number of 22 cured persons were discharged from the hospital. So far, 1,980 infected persons recovered. 251 patients are in a serious state in the hospital and 21 of them were put on a ventilator.
