The Republic of Moldova will have access to European funding and modern solutions for developing cities, improving infrastructure and increasing people's quality of life. The Cabinet approved the draft law to ratify the Financing Agreement with the European Commission and the French National Agency for the Cohesion of Territories for the URBACT IV 2021-2027 Program, IPN reports.
"We want developed cities with modern infrastructure and better living conditions. The EU offers us this possibility through the URBACT IV program, with a budget of €2 million, intended for cities in the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine," said the Movement’s secretary general Artur Mija.
Within the program, Moldova can benefit from projects that will transform cities and contribute to the creation of greener and more prosperous communities. Funding will be available for the modernization of public transport, with a focus on the ecological one, development of parks and other public spaces, reduction of pollution and promotion of energy efficiency.
Also, cities can benefit from support for the development of effective public policies, based on the exchange of good practices at European level.
