Chisinau on April 19 will host a Moldova-Belarus Economic Forum for Interregional Cooperation. This will include an exhibition of Belarusian goods that will involve about 180 business entities. Details about the event were presented in a news conference by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Moldova, IPN reports.
The Chamber’s chairman Sergiu Harea said the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Moldova established cooperation relations with the similar institution of Belarus and signed 14 cooperation agreements at national and regional levels. The business forum will bring together approximately 150 Moldovan companies operating in different sectors of the national economy. The forum will be followed by meetings.
Vladimir Ulakhovich, chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Belarus, said the event that will be held in Chisinau will also involve 30 Belarusian entrepreneurs representing the petrochemical industry, woodworking industry, agriculture, food industry, pharmaceutical and other industries. The business forum is an efficient platform for negotiations between the entrepreneurs of the two states.
Evgeniy Vedenskiy, director of the exhibitions center “Belinterexpo”, spoke about the particularities of the participating companies, saying these produce a wide range of agricultural machines. The Minsk Tractor Works will present innovative models of Belarusian tractors. The visitors of the exhibition will also see machines for transporting municipal waste and cleaning dust from streets. Another company will present clay-based glazed ceramic for interior walls.
The Economic Forum for Interregional Cooperation will be held at the Palace of the Republic starting at 8:20am. This forms part of the program of the official visit paid to Moldova by the President of Belarus Alexandr Lukashenko.
