A new hotbed of COVID-19 was reported at the Bălț Clinical Hospital. Eleventh cases of infection were recorded in the Hospital’s Therapy and Urology Sections that do not treat patients infected with the novel coronavirus, Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection Viorica Dumbrăveanu stated after the meeting of the Single Command Center.
She was quoted by IPN as saying that the figure of infected medical workers of the Emergency Medical Assistance Center in Râșcani district rose from 14 yesterday to 19 today.
Viorica Dumbrăveanu said that 157 infections with COVID-19 were detected on April 28 after examining 695 samples. One infection was imported from Russia, while 156 are local transmission cases. Most of the cases of infection were recorded in Chisinau, on the left side of the Nistru and in Orhei.
More than 17,000 persons were examined since the start of the pandemic and 3,638 of them tested positive. A number of 975 infected persons recovered, while 103 died.
Prime Minister Ion Chicu said the quarantine in Carahasani village of Ștefan Vodă district was lifted because the last case of infection there occurred two weeks ago.
The quarantine regime is maintained in seven localities: Soroca municipality, Ștefan Vodă town, Talmaza village of Ștefan Vodă district, Glodeni town, Brînzeni village of Edineț district and Etulia and Cișmichioi villages of ATU Gagauzia.
