The government is introducing a new filter for households seeking energy bill support. Households that do not declare any income but have adult-bodied adults are targeted in particular. This was announced by Social Protection Minister Marcel Spatari.
“We are talking about households that do not declare any income at all, even though they are adults able to work - they do not receive pensions or allowances – which visible in the system”, explains the minister.
“According to estimates, up to ten thousand families would not pass this filter. That’s why we urge families to declare their incomes as close as possible to the real ones”, said Marcel Spatari.
Recently, the Commission for Emergency Situations decided that households with an estimated energy consumption of 5000 lei or more and which declared a total income of less than 25% of the estimated energy consumption shall not be assigned an energy vulnerability rating higher than medium.
