A new drafting campaign will be carried out in April - July to select 1,500 recruits, IPN reports.
According to the press officer of the Ministry of Defense Ala Diaconu, the number of recruits with college and incomplete education increased compared with the previous years.
As many as 1,800 young people were drafted in October 2012 - January 2013. Most of the recruits are from the districts of Causeni, Orhei, Ungheni, and Soroca. 3.2% of the young people called up in the period have college education and the same percentage passed the Baccalaureate exams. The others have secondary, vocational or incomplete education.
Under the legislation, young people are drafted into the army four times a year. They do their military service in the armed forces for 12 months.
