During August 21-29, the National Bank of Moldova (NBM) is holding a competition to select participants in the second edition of the “School of Modern Finance” program, intended for master’s students and final year undergraduate students at the Moldovan Academy of Economic Studies.

The project is implemented in cooperation with the National Bank of Romania (NBR), together with the Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies (ASE). The NBM says in a press release that the students will have a unique educational experience and will meet personalities from the Romanian financial and banking sector, in particular NBR governor Mugur Isărescu.

The second School of Modern Finance will start in Chisinau with a meeting with NBM governor Octavian Armașu, and will continue in Bucharest with a cultural program in the cities of Iași, Brașov, Suceava and Sinaia. In the end, the participants will receive a certificate signed by the governors of BNM and BNR, as well as the rectors of ASE Bucharest and ASEM.

The School of Modern Finance was launched in July of this year as a semiannual series. The School is partially supported by the USAID’s Institutional and Structural Reforms Activity (MISRA), which backs the NBM’s efforts in accelerating financial sector reforms, and in improving financial education and inclusion.
