The National Bank of Moldova (NBM) has responded to requests from citizens to extend the deadline for the design competition for jubilee and commemorative coins, issuance of 2024 and 2025. Those interested can submit design projects until May 7, 2024, 2;00 p.m., IPN reports.

The citizens who reached the age of 18, as well as legal entities are encouraged to express their graphic vision of future coins. The number of drafts submitted by a participant for a topic is not limited, but not less than two conceptually different drafts per selected topic should be presented. Participants are required to comply with copyright and related rights and with the legislation on copyright and related rights, noted the NBM.

The basic criteria for the selection of the submitted projects refer to originality, creativity, esthetics and coherence of the design elements so that it is possible to execute them on the surface of the coins.

The requirements for the design of the coins, examination and evaluation conditions, remuneration, including other important details, are set out in the Procedure for the design competition, which is available on the central bank’s website.

Commemorative coins are issued by the National Bank of Moldova, have numismatic value and can be used as means of payment. The National Bank of Moldova puts these coins into circulation through licensed banks.
