Natural gas consumption in December 2023 was 137.8 million cubic meters, which is by 35.4% more than in December 2022. At the same time, according to Moldovagaz, compared to November 2023, the figure grew by 54.2 million cubic meters or by 64.8%, IPN reports.
By December 31, household consumers paid 99% of the amounts billed in 2023, which is by 0.1 percentage points less compared with the same period last year. In the case of non-household consumers (legal entities), the payments represented 97.6%, or by 1.4 percentage points less than in the same period last year. Enterprises operating in the energy and heating sectors of the country paid bills in the proportion of 97%, which is by 2.9 percentage points less compared to the same period last year.
In the reporting period, 334 consumption units were disconnected from the natural gas distribution network. The debts of their owners came to about 1.4 million lei. The condition of preventive payment was applied to 213 consumers as a consequence of the previous cessation of natural gas supply for failure to pay in due time the equivalent value of the consumed natural gas.
According to Moldovagaz data, the payments for natural gas consumption on December 31, 2023 represented 98% and amounted to 12.3 billion lei, which is by about 0.6 percentage points less compared to the same period of 2022.
