The Moldovan Government will partially compensate for the losses of natural entities whose backyards and plots of land were affected by floods. As Info-Prim Neo reports, the Cabinet decides to allocate its Agriculture Ministry 15.3 mln lei from the funds gathered in this respect, totaling 17 million lei. The households having lost all the harvest will be given by 10,000 lei per hectare. A special regulation provides that the local authorities will set up assessing commissions. The Agriculture and Food minister, Anatol Gorodenco, says all the procedures will last 11 days. He specified a flood-stricken household will get on average some 3,000 lei. Gorodenco says the official statistics point out that the average incomes from backyard harvests are twice less. After the damages are payed to private households, the Government will think of compensating companies. According to preliminary data, 8,000 ha of farmlands were affected by the end-July floods. Of them, the damages to the harvest exceed 30% only on 490 ha.
