The national women’s tennis team of Moldova found out its opponents within Group III of the Fed Cup Europe/Africa Zone. Moldova will play in Group D alongside Namibia, Macedonia and Mozambique, IPN reports.
The winner of the group will play against the winner of Group A, which includes Lithuania, Cyprus and Iceland, in Macedonia. Of the 13 competing teams, only two will qualify for Group II of the Fed Cup Europe/Africa Zone. Moldova plays the first match against Mozambique on April 14.
The national tennis team of Moldova has the following lineup: Anastasia Vdovenco, Daniela Ciobanu, Alexandra Perper, and Iulia Helbet. The president of the Moldovan Tennis Federation Marina Tauber is the team’s captain. “We consider the draw results are satisfactory. However, it is a sport and the competition will be difficult. We will definitely struggle for each point,” Marina Tauber stated for IPN.
