The national women’s Under 17 football team of Moldova suffered a 0-3 defeat in the match against Sweden, of the qualifying rounds of the 2017 European Championships. The victory scored by Sweden, which takes the seventh position in the world rankings, was predictable, IPN reports.

Sweden opened the score in the 1st minute trough Schough. In the 43rd minute, Schelin transformed a penalty, while Hammarlund set the final score in the 88th minute. “It was a hard match for us. We didn’t have occasions for scoring, but I hope we will play the next games more offensively,” said the coach of the Moldovan team Alina Stetsenko.

The national seniors team, which returned to the international arena after a pause of nine years, will play the next match against Denmark away on October 22. Moldova plays in the same group with Poland and Slovakia.
