The national women’s football team of Moldova lost the second match in the qualifying rounds of the 2017 European Championship. Moldova was beaten by Latvia 0-1, IPN reports.
The only goal was scored in the 26th minute by Liene Vaciete. Despite this defeat, Moldova remained at the top of Group 1, with three points, as Latvia, Lithuania, and Luxemburg. In the first match, Alina Stetsenko’s team was defeated by the similar squad of Lithuania 2-0.
On April 9, Moldova meets Luxemburg in Vadul lui Voda town. Only the winner of the group qualifies for the next phase.
