Moldovan wines and millennial traditions in the field are celebrated today and tomorrow throughout the country within the framework of the National Wine Day, which reached its eighteenth edition. Almost 70 wineries, from the four regions with Protected Geographical Indication, are already in the wine town and are waiting for over one hundred thousand visitors and tourists, who have announced their presence, IPN reports.

The Wine City extends this year beyond the Great National Assembly Square, to the Nativity of Lord Cathedral Square and Eugen Doga pedestrian street. The main stage, where artists from the country and abroad will perform today and tomorrow, is installed on the pedestrian street. These are Via Si band, Pasha Parfeni, Tharmis group, Lupii & Calancea Band, Dj Marcus Lower, Luiku - Ukraine, Vița de Vie and Niko de Transilvania – România.

The holiday starts today at 11.00. Speeches will be delivered at the event by Georgeta Mincu, Minister of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment; Gheorghe Arpentin, director of the National Office of Vine and Wine; Dereck J. Hogan, United States Ambassador to the Republic of Moldova; Anna Lyberg, Swedish Ambassador to the Republic of Moldova and Scott Hocklander, Head of USAID Mission to Moldova.

After the opening ceremony, the award ceremony of the actors from the wine sector will follow. Until 16.00, visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy the recitals of several performers and bands, after which the great fun and concerts will move to the main stage of the pedestrian street. Apart from two days of wine tasting, visitors will also be offered gastronomic surprises and trips to the country's wineries.

At the entrances to the Wine City, on Stefan cel Mare si Sfânt boulevard, an infopoint, where visitors will be able to find information about the program of the event and to purchase the Tasting Book, but also promotional materials with the visual identity of the event, will operate. This holiday is inspired by the Moldovan generous autumns, authentic traditions and the works of one of the greatest Moldovan painters - Mihai Grecu.

The National Wine Day, the greatest holiday dedicated to winemakers and millennial traditions in winemaking, aims to promote the culture of responsible wine consumption.
