The men’s and women’s national volleyball championships were cancelled so that the titles this year will not be awarded, IPN reports.
The competitions reached the playoffs, but all the matches were suspended in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“All the halls were closed until September 1. No one trains and the players are on vacation. We will start a new season with new teams,” Artur Romașcan, president of the Moldovan Volleyball Federation, stated for a TV channel.
Last year, the team of the State University of Moldova won the title of champion among men, while Dinamo-MAI Chisinau became the women’s champion.
