In connection with the celebration of the National Day of Romania on December 1, the National Union Council congratulated all the Romanians form the Republic of Moldova and outside its borders and called on the government to start the reunification with Romania.

“The national unity of the Romanian nation after World War I, the world conflict in which the Romanians took part and contributed to establishing peace, ended with the reintegration of the nation that was divided into three states: Ardeal under the empire that fell, Bessarabia under the empire that fell and Walachia. This process was, is and will be historic and unforgettable and no occupation, no intervention can nullify it,” Alexandru Arseni, National Union Council chairman, stated in a news conference staged by IPN.

He noted that territorially, Moldova is situated on the ethnic grounds and only the legal procedures need to be performed. Citing poet Mihai Eminescu, Alexandru Arseni said the Romanian nation has always been and will be a peaceful nation, a good neighbor ready to help.

Gheorghe Viță, a member of the National Union Council, said that given the problems experienced by the Republic of Moldova, the Council decided to stage a public event called the Great National Union for the reintegration of Romania on March 26, 2023 in Chisinau, where to vote for the reunification with Romania. “Dear Romanians, Bessarabians, the situation in which we found ourselves is serious. Corruption, inflation, poverty, massive migration of the population lead us to disappearance as a nation. What has been destroyed during 30 years can be restored during a four-year mandate,” he stated.
