The National Union Council will stage a public event they call the Great National Union for the reintegration of Romania on March 26, 2023 in Chisinau. The Council calls on the country’s administration to start the reunification with Romania in accordance with the spirit of the Declaration of Independence and urges the Romanians from everywhere to come to the Great National Assembly Square to vote for the reintegration of the country, Gheorghe Viță, a member of the Council, stated in a news conference hosted by IPN.

Gheorghe Viță, in the name of the National Union Council, called upon doctors, teachers, lyceum and university students, people of science and culture to actively become involved in the reintegration process. “Only the reintegration of the country will bring us prosperity and welfare, while the postponement of this process will seriously influence the economic situation and will lead to poverty, famine and war. The Greater Romania is the only salvation,” he noted.

Alexandru Arseni, chairman of the National Union Council, said the Romanian nation that suffered in World War I and World War II deserves and will be integrated into the ethnic and historical place of origin. The former Pope of Rome John Paul II and current Pope Francis noted that Romania is the Garden of the Mother of God.

Anatolie Petrici, a member of the National Union Council, said the territory of current Moldova belongs to Romania, but the consequences of the Soviet occupation need to be done away with. “I call on all the Romanians from the left and right sides of the Prut to come to the Great National Assembly Square to do an important thing – to raise the hand when the reintegration of Romania is put to the vote,” he stated.

Acceding to Anatolie Petrici, there are over 1 million citizens with Romanian nationality in Moldova. Those who manage the current Republic of Moldova also hold Romanian nationality. “They regained the nationality and obtained documents confirming the Romanian nationality, took an oath of allegiance to the Romanian state. The oath is not a poem. It is affiliation to the state, the citizen’s obligations to the state and the state’s obligations to the citizen. For breaking this oath, the citizen is held criminally accountable. We want the Constitution of Romania to be respected, the territories to be reunited into the initial state,” said Anatolie Petrici.
