The national Under-18 basketball team of Moldova scored a victory in the first match of the FIBA U18 European Championship Division C. Moldova beat Gibraltar 90-84, IPN reports.
Moldova began the match forcefully and was leading by 23-12 after the first half. The largest number of points was scored by Victor Legoshin - 24. Among the scorers were also Nicolae Grubyi (16), Vadim Raducan (12), Vadim Bycheb (11), Alexandr Fadin (8), Denis Savca (6), Ivan Popovschii (5), Gheorghe Rebeja (5) and Ruslan Duminica (3).
In another match of Group B, Malta defeated San-Marino 74-61. On July 5, Moldova plays San Marino in Nicosia.
