The national Under 21 football team of Moldova suffered a new defeat in the qualifying competition of the 2017 UEFA European Championship. In Orhei, Moldova was beaten by the Czech Republic 1-3. It thus remained last in the group, scoring only four points during six games, IPN reports.

The team trained by Danut Oprea opened the score. In the 13th minute, Czech halfback Milan Havel scored an own goal after a phase created by Alexandru Bejan. The guests scored towards the end of the first half, through halfback Tomas Soucek. The Czech team took over in the 53rd minute, as a result of a new own goal. Sheriff halfback Artiom Rozgoniuc scored in the own goal with the head. The 3-1 scoreline was set by striker Antonin Barak in the 83rd minute.

“Our problem is that we receive too many goals from fixed phases. We lack concentration,” Moldova coach Danut Oprea told a news conference.

Moldova plays the next match of the qualifying competition of the UEFA EURO 2017 against Belgium at home on March 23.
