The national tennis team failed again to qualify for the Davis Cup Europe/Africa Zone Group II, IPN reports.
On the tennis courts of the Bulgarian town Sozopol, Moldova managed to beat only Malta, 2-1. Maxim Bulat emerged victorious in the singles, while Dmitrii Bascov and Andrei Ciumac won the doubles.
The Bascov - Ciumac pair also won a 1-2 victory against Iceland. The pair Bascov - Soltoianu defeated Macedonia in the doubles.
Leader Radu Albot does not play for the national tennis team as he decided to focus on his individual results this year.
