The victories scored against Sweden and Germany helped the national rugby team of Moldova to climb two spots in the world rankings. The team trained by Sergiu Motoc now ranks 28th in the world, IPN reports.
Moldova surpassed the national squads of Hong Kong and Zimbabwe and is two spots away from Germany, with which it competes for a place in group 1A of the European Nations Cup.
Moldova is among the national squads that suffered no defeat in 2013. Moldova’s future opponent Poland is the 32nd. The match against Poland will take place on April 5 away.
The IRB world rankings are topped by New Zealand, which is followed by South Africa and England.
