National preselection for Eurovision opened

The National Public Broadcaster “Teleradio Moldova” opened the national preselection for the 56th Eurovision Song Contest, Info-Prim Neo reports. The participation conditions remained practically the same as the previous year – the song not longer than three minutes, at most six persons on the stage, and the participants older than 16, the head of the organizational committee Vitalie Cojocaru said in a news conference on December 27. The applications can be submitted by January 16. The songs must have been launched after September 1, 2010. Four bands have applied so far. The Eurovision Song Contest will take place in the German town of Dusseldorf during May 10-14. In 2010, Moldova was represented at Eurovision by Olia Tira and Sun Stroke Project. They ranked 22nd of 25 countries in the final.
