The national football team of Moldova went up one spot to the 162nd in the FIFA world rankings for this month released on March 9, IPN reports.
The team trained by Igor Dobrovolski is to play friendlies against San Marino, in Serravalle on 19 March, and Turkey, in Eskisehir on March 27 as well as a match against Austria, of the 2018 World Championship qualifying competition, in Vienna on March 24. Among Moldova’s Group D opponents, Wales has the best position in the rankings – 12th. Ireland ranks 24th, Austria – 34th, Serbia – 52nd, while Georgia – 126th.
The rankings are topped by Argentina, which is followed by Brazil and Germany. The next rankings will be made public on April 6.
