Dacia, Sheriff and Petrocub are the teams that managed to score goals during the first official match of 2016. Dacia had a difficult mission as it played on the field of the fourth ranked Speranta Nisporeni. Ukrainian player Vladimir Zastavnyi scored the only goal in the 75th minute, IPN reports.

Sheriff played one hour later and needed a victory to keep pace with Dacia. The team from Tiraspol beat Zaria Balti, which is trained by the former coach of Metalist Kharkov Igor Rahaev, by the same score, 1-0. Sheriff was more active in signing new players and had five famous names in the match against Zaria. One of them, Artur Patras, made the difference in the 60th minute, after transforming a free kick. Sheriff and Dacia have the same score and are to meet in Chisinau on March 12.

Zimbru is now seven points away from Dacia and Sheriff following the 0-0 draw with Academia. The encounter between current champion Milsami and Dinamo-Auto ended by a similar draw. The team trained by Andrian Sosnovschi created a series of occasions for scoring, but failed to score, with former international Eugen Sidorenco being among those who missed the chance.

In Hancesti, Petrocub beat the last ranked Saxan 1-0. Led by Valeriu Andronic on the field, the newly promoted team managed to score the victory in the 67th minute, through Roman Shumkin.
