National Commission for European Integration set up

President Vladimir Voronin decreed the constitution of the National Commission for European Integration, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to the presidential press service, the Commission was created with the aim of strengthening the relations between Moldova and the European Union in accordance with the country’s priorities and objectives to expand the European integration process. It will coordinate the fulfillment of the commitments deriving from the Moldova-EU documents and understandings.
The Commission is composed of President Vladimir Voronin, Prime Minister Zinaida Grecianyi, Deputy Speaker Maria Postoico, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Andrei Stratan, Chairman of the Legal Parliamentary Commission for Appointments and Immunities Vladimir Turcan, Minister of Finance Mariana Durlesteanu, Minister of Justice Vitalie Parlog, Minister of the Interior Valentin Mejinschi, Minister of Reintegration Vasilii Sova, Chairman of the Superior Council of Magistrates Nicolae Clima, presidential adviser Marc Tcaciuc, and presidential adviser Teodor Vasilica.
The Opposition parties and civil society are not represented in National Commission for European Integration.
A similar commission existed earlier, set up under presidential decree in November 2002.
