June 4, 1991 is the founding day of the National Bank of Moldova (NBM). This year’s anniversary comes at a time of transformation for the entire country. The process of joining the European Union is to start and the National Bank is the main pillar in many negotiation chapters, said NBM governor Anca Dragu said. She also delivered a congratulatory message on the occasion of the Bank Worker’s Day, expressing her gratitude to all those who contribute to the stability and development of the sector in Moldova, IPN reports.
“In these times, marked by change, we have demonstrated that we are able to adapt quickly and implement modern solutions that strengthen public confidence and ensure a robust and transparent financial environment,” said the governor.
Anca Dragu noted that essential reforms have been carried out to improve financial services and support the national economy, mentioning the MIA instant payments system, which facilitates fast transactions for citizens and companies, the signing of Moldova’s application for accession to SEPA, which represents a major step towards integration into the European payments area. All these things became possible through the effort of the sector’s employees, stressed the governor.
“Together, we can offer a better future for Moldova, a future in which the European values are the foundation of a prosperous life for the citizens,” said Anca Dragu.
