The selection commission announced the names of the laureates of this year’s ten National Awards. The award ceremony will take place at the National Palace “Nicolae Sulac” on August 26. Each of the awardees will receive by 100,000 lei, IPN reports.
The 2013 National Award laureates are: painter Eleonora Romanescu; composer and conductor Gheorghe Mustea; tenor Mihail Munteanu; writer Spiridon Vangheli; filmmaker, director and producer Victor Bucataru, who will receive the prize posthumously; doctors habilitate in agriculture Nicolae Eremia and Maria Goncearuc; boxing coach Petru Caduc, and the group of authors directed by scientific researcher Andrei Munteanu and rector Ion Ababii.
Candidate Victor Bucataru was recognized as perfectly eligible as he was alive when he submitted the application, by the August 5 deadline.
