National Action Plan for EU Accession presented for public consultations

The National Action Plan for Accession to the EU was proposed for public consultations by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration. The document is an essential stage on the European path of the Republic of Moldova and replaces all the previous approaches, clearly reflecting the national objective to prepare Moldova for joining the EU in 2030, IPN reports, quoting the Ministry.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration initiates public consultations on the draft Government Decision concerning the approval of the National Action Plan for Accession to the European Union for 2023-2027. “This is a crucial step towards strengthening our ties with the European family and will become the basis of our accession by which we will adjust and integrate the Community acquis into our national legislation. Currently, we are in the process of assessing the compliance of the national legislation with the European legislation and of distributing the necessary documents to the institutions responsible for their implementation. The given plan will be developed substantially as a result of the assessment process performed together with the European Commission,” said Deputy Premier Nicu Popescu, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration.

According to the official, the joining of the EU is a major objective for Moldova and the citizens’ involvement is crucial for building a more prosperous future as part of the European community.

All those interested are invited to take part in the public consultations and to share their opinions and suggestions. The proposals and recommendations on the drat can be sent to the responsible person Marian Ghenadie, head of the Unit of Economic and Sector Cooperation with the EU of the Foreign Ministry’s European Integration Division, by October 12, 2023.
