The independent presidential candidate Natalia Morari is promising monthly 1,500 lei vouchers to help pensioners buy local food as a means to both support the elderly and stimulate domestic producers.
“One of my first initiatives as president will be to promote a salary increase rule that will preclude government officials from increasing their salaries unless they raise old age pensions by at least 1:2 first. In other words, if MPs or ministers want to increase their salaries by 10%, they must first increase pensions by 20%”, the candidate says.
Another initiative announced by the candidate is to oblige retain chains to reserve shelves with discounted food for pensioners. “Also, I will ensure the adoption of a law that will revise the calculation of seniority. Situations where someone works honestly, but the employer does not pay contributions to the social fund, and the pensioner is affected as a result, should not exist”, says Natalia Morari.
Natalia Morari is one of the 11 candidates registered in the presidential race.
