The Government watches with concern the regional developments and the statements made by Ukraine and Russia, and hopes that the sides will be wise and avoid an escalation, said Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița when asked to comment on reports that Russia is preparing a provocation in Transnistria with the purpose of incriminating Ukraine.
“At the same time, all the Government’s authorities are prepared, are considering a number of scenarios and will act depending on how the situation will play out”, the Moldovan prim.
According to reports citing Ukraine’s military intelligence, troops in Transnistria were told that Ukraine was plotting provocations near Cobasna, where Russian ammunition is stored.
