Narcologist of Ceadîr-Lunga District Hospital loses battle with COVID-19

One more health professional succumbed to COVID-19. This is Vera Belciu, 66, who worked as a narcologist at the Ceadîr-Lunga District Hospital. She was admitted in a serious state to the National Clinical Hospital on June 16. This is the second case of death among doctors reported by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection on June 19, IPN reports.

According to the updated data of the Ministry, 2,071 persons working for medical institutions contracted the novel coronavirus since the start of the pandemic. Of these, 500 are doctors. The average contagion rate among healthcare workers per 100 people is of 4.6%.

In the morning, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection informed about the death from COVID-19 of 68-year-old anesthesiologist-reanimatologist Constantin Grosu, who worked at the Municipal Clinical Hospital “Saint Trinity” of Chisinau. Twenty health professionals succumbed to COVID-19 in Moldova so far.
