Municipality selects company for building an almshouse for elderly

The municipality intends to announce after June 20 a contest to appoint the company to reconstruct an unfinished building from Ciocana district into an asylum for old people. The counselor of the interim mayor of Chisinau municipality, Tudor Garbu, announced that the amount of the investments for this construction was estimated at 50 million lei, according to the principle „maxim conditions, minimum expenses”. Previously, the interim mayor, Vasile Ursu, said that only 15 million lei were planned from the local budget for 2006 in order to make the reconstruction works. Now in the building are being dismantled the gyps walls, and the institute „Chisinau-Proiect” is drafting the re-planning projects. The asylum is planned to have as many as 200 places and to accommodate old people from the whole municipality. The territory near the asylum includes a surface of 4.5 hectares.
