Two new articulated trolleybuses of the five that were brought recently from Belarus will be put on routes on the Chisinau City’s Day that is celebrated on October 14. The trolleybuses are assembled by the Chisinau Electric Transport Company and three of them were already tested. The announcement was made in the ordinary Monday meeting of officials of Chisinau services, IPN reports.
The trolleybuses have air conditioning and LED lighting systems, a low floor and access ramps for persons in wheelchairs, video surveillance systems and USB sockets. An articulated vehicle can transport 162 persons. The cost of a trolleybus is €315,000.
Another ten classical trolleybuses are to be delivered from Belarus by the end of this month. The public transport system will be supplemented with 30 units of the kind by the end of this year.
Also, 25 used trolleybuses with a guarantee period of seven years will be brought from Latvia to Chisinau in the immediate period.
