Eleven municipal civil servants stand as candidates on the lists of the Communists Party for the offices of councillors. Another 5 candidates run on behalf of the Christian Democrat party. All of them are using their offices, telephones and taxpayer-funded cars as well as other administrative resources. This statement has been made by the municipal councillor Oleg Cernei, at the Chisinau Council’s session on Thursday, May 3, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to Cernei, the list of the Communists Party includes interim mayor Veaceslav Iordan; the head of the Finance Department, Tatiana Cunetchi; head of the Education, Sports and Youth Department, Tatiana Tverdohleb; interim pretor of Rascani district, Reghina Apostolov; head of the Funeral Services Enterprise, Vadim Cojusneanu; head of the Healthcare Department, Iurie Bucinschi; chairman of the Municipal Centre of Preventive Medicine, Iurie Panzaru; chairman of the mayor general’s office, Serghei Polihovici; head of the Preventive Assistance Department , Ghenadie Gluscenco; interim chairman of the Public Transport Department, Alexei Varlan; chairman of the Electric Transport Management, Vasile Rudai. On the other hand, PPCD lists include deputy mayor Alexandru Corduneanu; pretor of Ciocana district, Ion Gabura; senior specialist of the Chisinau City Hall, Calin Cotruta; senior specialist of the Children Rights Protection Department, Stefana Mocanu; senior specialist of the Architecture Urbanism and Land Relation Department, Eugenia Liubomeiscaia. According to Cernei, all these candidates should suspend their main job activities and campaign outside the City Hall and their work places, without using their offices, telephones and taxpayer-funded cars. They should participate in the competition in equal conditions with all electoral competitors. Cernei referred to the City Hall’s specialist, Calin Cotruta, as an example. Cotruta ignores his work duties, preparing low quality materials for the Municipal Council’s sessions, being involved in the PPCD’s election campaign. In the context, the incumbent mayor, Petru Svet, read the request of the Chisinau District Election Council concerning the suspending of the main job activities of the candidates Veaceslav Iordan, Alexandru Corduneanu, Ion Gabura, Vlad Cotet, Reghina Apostolov and Ana Iurasco.
