CMC approved the decision together with the regulation on the procedure and conditions of allowing to use the official title „Chisinau” or historical „Кишинев”.
The head of economic, reform and patrimony relations department (DGERRP), Valentina Merla, reported previously that the regulation stipulated the right to use the official or historical brand of municipality on the trademark or service only with CMC decision. She said that the person requiring the use of the official or historic name of the municipality has to submit to CMC the list of goods for which he intends to use the brand „Chisinau” or „Кишинев”. She explained that it was included in the regulation the condition that the person present the list of goods in order to see if this does not damages the municipality, public order or the moral.
Merla underlined that the permit to use the brand of the municipality is used by paying for it, for a 10-year term, when the owner can sell it or give it as a present.
According to the decision the ordinary or juridical persons who obtained till 31December 2004 the right to use the brands „Chisinau” or „Кишинев”, have to address an application to reconfirm this right.
