The budget of Chisinau was jeopardised by the City Hall, designers and executors of the restoration works of Pan Halipa Street and “Eternity” Memorial to the total sum of MDL 50 mln. This accusation, according to the municipal councillor of “Moldova Noastra” Alliance (MNA) Oleg Cernei, belongs to the head of Regional Development Agency, Igor Seminovcher.
Cernei asked at today’s sitting of the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) to make Seminovcher’s statement of public, so that CMC would take an attitude regarding the abusive spending of local budget’s money. The cited source says that the local councillors accepted several times the requests of the interim mayor Vasile Ursu to offer supplementary financial resources for these projects, although Ursu has never presented the project nor the list of expenses for the works.
AMN Councillor asked City Hall authorities to present before the CMC the conclusions of Seminovcher’s Commission concerning the loss of MDL 50 mln, as well as the information related to the reconstruction of the square of the National Opera and of the monument of Stefan cel Mare, where according to Cernei, the budget lost MDL 2 mln.
Previously, the councillor of the Social-Political Movement “Ravnopravie”, Valeri Climenco said that the most significant achievement of City Hall’s administration in 2006 was the reconstruction of “Eternity” Memorial, but it admitted a series of mistakes during the works. The cited source says that the objects reconstructed in a hurry are now falling apart.
