The lawmakers got into a fight in the last sitting of the legislative body this year. Democratic MP Marian Lupu and Communist lawmaker Grigore Petrenco pushed each other. The altercation was stopped by employees of the State Guard Service, IPN reports.

The Communist MPs said the three candidates proposed for members of the Supreme Council of Magistrates were selected by the government coalition, while the contest organized by the legal commission for appointments and immunities was formal.

After the Communists intervened, Marian Lupu asked the Head of Parliament to interrupt the debates. As a result, Lupu and Petrenco exchanged harsh replies and then engaged in a struggle. Other MPs joined in. The sitting was interrupted for several minutes.

Speaker Igor Corman asked the MPs to have a decent behavior and reminded that the media monitor them.
