Candidate for MP on behalf of the Electoral Block of the Communists and the Socialists Vasile Bolea in a press briefing said that he asked the responsible bodies to determine how public money is spent at the Cahul mayor’s office, which has received state budget and regional budget funds totaling 46-48 million lei for infrastructure projects during the past four years, but the roads, epically those on the periphery, continue to be in a deplorable state, IPN reports.

Vasile Bolea said that after the Financial Inspectorate hadn’t examined the activity of the Cahul mayor’s office for almost six years, recently it launched a planned inspection to see if the public funds reached the destination. At the same time, the presidential administration asked the Inspectorate, in connection with the working visit paid by President Maia Sandu to Cahul, to provide information about the legal reason and the pace of the inspection. This is pressure aimed at protecting the mayor of Cahul and the presidential administration should allow the responsible bodied to fulfill their duties.

In the same press briefing, Vasile Bolea informed about irregularities committed at a currency exchange ability in Leova town, which is managed by a candidate for MP on behalf of the PAS. According to him, instead of sales slips, the facility issues to the clients simple sheets on which the value of the transaction is written with the hand.

PAS secretary Andrei Spînu posted on Facebook that in the recent past an increasing number of PAS members receive signals concerning challenges planned by the “gang of criminals”. The challenges appear because they fear that Maia Sandu and the PAS can form a government after the elections of July 11.  “Dear citizens, members and supporters of the PAS, I urge you not to yield to provocations and to contribute to a clean and correct campaign,” he wrote.
