A motorcyclist lost his life in a traffic accident in Sadova village of Călărași district in the morning of May 11. The 54-year-old man ran into a car parked at the gate of a house by his motorcycle.
Călărași Police Inspectorate press officer Cristina Vicol has told IPN that the police were informed about the accident at about 8am. The man lost control of the motorcycle and crashed this into a car in which there was another man aged 54.
The impact was fatal for the motorcyclist, who died on the spot. A police inquiry was opened to determine all the circumstances of the accident.
According to the National Patrolling Inspectorate, the number of road accidents involving motorcyclists has increased over the past two years. Twenty-one persons died in such accidents last year, with 165 being injured.
