The Chisinau Child Rights Protection Division decided to separate the two-year-old girl, who was found with hypothermia and signs of rape on a street in Causeni at the end of September, from her mother and grandmother. In a communiqué, the Division says that it investigated itself this case as the mother has the residence visa in Chisinau municipality, IPN reports.
Specialists of the Division discussed with the local social worker, neighbors and other persons who know the family. Based on the obtained information, it was decided to separate the child from her mother and grandmother. The girl is now in the hospital. The mother can also be deprived of parental rights for the second child, who is now in a placement service in the municipality of Chisinau.
The Child Rights Protection Division will submit a relevant application to court and will initiate the procedure for holding the woman accountable for negligence and putting the child in a dangerous situation.
The raped girl was left in the care of neighbors. Her mother went to Chisinau for several weeks. The prosecutor of Causeni district Ion Oboroceanu has told IPN that they collected evidence against a 28-year-old man who is a relative of the girl’s mother, who is suspected of rape. The man was put under arrest for 30 days. The investigation is almost complete and the case is to be sent to court. The young man will be tried for pedophilia.
