More trolleybuses and buses run on routes in Chisinau

More buses and trolleybuses started to work in Chisinau today. Traditionally, the Chisinau Electric Transport Company and the Urban Bus Company increase the number of units traveling on routes from the first school day owing to the larger passenger traffic. “A number of 205 trolleybuses ran in summer. From today, the passengers have at their disposal 260 units,” Gheorghe Morgoci, the director of the Chisinau Electric Transport Company, has told Info-Prim Neo. “We have studied the passenger traffic this summer and ascertained that 260 trolleybuses can cope with it. In March, there were 280 trolleybuses on routes, but now, as a series of companies suspended work and the people remained without jobs, the number of passengers decreased. Therefore, 260 trolleybuses are enough in Chisinau,” Gheorghe Morgoci said. According to him, the number of trolleybuses running on routes No. 22, 1, 8, 4, 10, 21 and 23 was raised. The Urban Bus Company also returned to the autumn program and increased the number of units of transport from 90 to 103. “No route was given priority. The number of buses was increased practically on all the routes in Chisinau and the suburbs. They always ask for more buses, but we cannot provide them,” said Marcel Lupanciuc, deputy director on exploitation of the Urban Bus Company.
