More than half of Internet users are women

Some 93% of the Internet users in Moldova have a personal computer, while 37% access the Internet using a tablet PC or a smartphone. 53% of the users are women, shows a study by the Audit Bureau of Circulations and Internet and the international company Gemius, IPN reports.

The study shows that most of the Internet users (65%) are aged between 20 and 49. Of these, 28% are aged between 20 and 29, while 22% - between 30 and 39.

About 56% of the users are active persons, employees or entrepreneurs, while 18% are students. Most of the Internet users have middle and large incomes: 34% have net monthly incomes of up to 10,000 lei.

The areas of interest of the users are different. 15% access online bank services, 40% perform online transactions regularly, while 54% follow the news.

Some 33% of the users have university and post-university studies. The young people who graduated from a lyceum represent 29% of the users.

According to the study, the Internet users in Moldova represent an attractive target for publicity providers because these are primarily active persons with higher education and with middle and large incomes.
