The number of customs officers during the mini-vacation of May 1-4 will be increased at all the customs posts by 2-6, head of the press office of the Customs Service Alina Sargu has told IPN. The move is aimed at preventing the formation of queues and at reducing the waiting time in customs posts.

There are by 16 officers at customs posts on the ordinary days. From May 1 until May 4 inclusive, 21-22 customs employees will work at the Leuseni, Ghidighici and Sculeni customs posts, which are more popular with travelers. At the other customs posts, there will be by 18 employees.

The number of people and units of transport will be monitored continuously. If it rises significantly, the customs officers in reserve will be summoned, while traffic will be redirected to other customs control lanes.

In Moldova there are over 130 internal and border customs posts.
