“The former leader of the Democratic Party of Moldova Vladimir Plahotniuc was against ex-Premier Pavel Filip taking over the party and its parliamentary group,” Democratic MP Monica Babuc, Deputy Parliament Speaker, was quoted by IPN as saying in the talk show “Fourth Power” on N4 channel.

“When he just left and communicated with Mister Pavel Filip, he pronounced against the taking over of the PDM by Pavel Filip. I also known from the current president of the party that he was against Pavel Filip taking over the parliamentary group of the Democratic Party,” stated the MP.

In this connection, Monica Babuc admits that Vladimir Plahotniuc could have contributed to the defections of MPs from the Democratic parliamentary group and considers that this is said.

The politician noted that she wasn’t offered to leave the PDM, but is curious about the procedure. “I would be curious to see how such proposals are formulated. I would be curious to see how these things happen normally so as to understand how other politicians in the Republic of Moldova look at it and how other people assess the performance of each person in politics”.

Also, Monica Babuc said she will not leave the PDM and will make effort to contribute to the planned reformation of the party.

“I like to be original and, as there is a leaving trend, the originality remains in the PDM. I do not intend to leave the PDM. I am making effort together with the party members I trust, either from the central organization or from local organizations, to reform the PDM that has experienced a powerful crisis as a political entity after leaving the government. I believe and hope that we will manage to do this as we have extraordinary human resources inside the PDM,” noted Monica Babuc.

She also said that she does not imagine working as part of the parliamentary group Pro Moldova and regrets that the persons who took strategic decisions in the party decided to leave.

“I want to say that people who were near us throughout this period and supported all the strategic decisions taken by the party until the last moment left because of motivations that cannot be explained. It’s hard for me to understand these people. I do not see myself there,” concluded Monica Babuc.
