The National Bank of Moldova (NBM) has succeeded to increase in October the monetary reserve by USD 26.34 mln, up to 674.19 mln. The increase is chiefly due to purchases of foreign currency on the internal currency market.
If NBM keeps up buying foreign currency in the same manner, experts believe that by the end of the year the monetary reserve could exceed USD 700 mln.
The biggest share of the monetary reserves was held on October 31 as liquidities and term deposits – USD 385.6 mln. Securities cover USD 288.58 mln.
NBM also keeps USD 7.41 thousand at the IMF.
