Monetary amount increased in August by almost MDL 230 million

Data of the National Bank of Moldova show that the monetary amount (M3) increased in August by MDL 229 million, and reached MDL 17 billion 695.8 million, while the number of deposits in foreign currency increased. Deposits in foreign currency by the end of August have been estimated at MDL 6 billion 271 million, an increase of MDL 215.9 million. In the same time, the monetary amount in MDL (M2) had a modest evolution in August – increased by only MDL 13.1 million, and reached MDL 11 billion 424.8 million. This devolution has been influenced mainly by the decrease by MDL 105.7 million of the deposits in MDL, which are now MDL 3 billion 724.4 million. On the other hand, instant deposits in MDL are 2 billion 940.3 million and increased by MDL 94 million. By the end of August the total cash in the circuit was estimated at MDL 4 billion 747.1 million, an increase of 22.9 million.
