The monetary aid for the winter season and subsidies in bills will be provided after the persons register in the energy vulnerability system, on the government platform compensatii.gov.md that will start to be used on November 1. To benefit from state support for November, the citizens need to register by November 25, Minister of Labor and Social Protection Alexei Buzu told a news conference.
The minister said that this year the cold-month allowance is 800 lei, up from 700 lei. The monetary compensation will be integrated into the subsidy for energy so as to simplify the process of obtaining state support. The recipients will not need to make several trips, to present a number of documents, etc. The work of social assistants will also be simplified this way.
Alexei Buzu noted that the households will be entitled to subsidies if their incomes are lower than the minimum consumer basket. For a person from rural areas, this is 3,963 lei, while for a person from urban areas this is 4,663 lei. The persons who register will qualify if the system determines that their incomes are lower than these levels. A condition is for the household to use a solid source of energy for heating.
This year the state provides this compensation also to persons who until September 15 were qualified for cold-month allowances according to the old system. But these persons need to register in the energy vulnerability system.
The minister said that the subsidization system “Meter Assistance” https://compensatii.gov.md will be launched on November 1 and all the technical details will be presented then. Things remained mainly unchanged. Both those who received subsidies last year and those who didn’t register last year will be able to register.
The official assured that the registration process is simple and takes not more than 15-20 minutes. Those who need assistance to register can seek help from the local social assistant.
After November 25, all the persons who registered will be informed if they qualify for the monetary compensation and about the energy vulnerability category into which they fell in the case of subsidies in bills.
If the persons register after November 25, the compensation will be provided for December and the next months, not yet for November.
