The persons who collect their pensions at the post office do it after a particular date that they know, Viorica Podoleanu, PR specialist at Moldova’s Post Office, stated for IPN when asked to comment on President Igor Dodon’s announcement that the pensions will be paid according to timetables so as to avoid crowdedness at post offices.

The individualized pension payment timetable is set by the National House of Social Insurance and a part of the pensioners will have to wait outside before receiving the pension inside the office given the social distance of 1 meter that must be respected in connection with the COVID-19 infection. To those who have health problems, Moldova’s Post Office offers the pension at home service that can also be provided based on a power of attorney in the name of a trustworthy person.

Viorica Podoleanu noted that the fluidization of access to post offices started to be used when the state of emergency was declared and will be applied as long as it is necessary.

President Dodon on March 23 said that as of next week, a part of the pensioners will receive their pensions by card. In the case of pensioners who collect the pensions at post offices, conditions to fluidize the access of persons to offices will be created so as to avoid crowdedness.
