The official Chisinau must continue the implementation of reforms and aligning with the European standards because the place of the Republic of Moldova is in the European Union, Poland’s Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski stated during a meeting with his Moldovan counterpart Mihai Popșoi, IPN reports.

A press release of Moldova’s Foreign Ministry says that the two officials also discussed the priorities of the Polish Presidency of the Council of the EU and the Visegrad Group. Mihai Popșoi approved of the recent declaration adopted at the meeting of foreign ministers in Weimar, which included a message of support for the Republic of Moldova.

The officials also considered the opportunities to improve economic cooperation. “We want more Polish companies to invest in the Republic of Moldova,” said Mihai Popșoi.

The interlocutors agreed to continue extending the bilateral relations as the Republic of Moldova advances on its path of European integration.

Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Popșoi is paying working visits to Warsaw, Bratislava and Vienna during June 17-20.
